Special Educational Needs at Annesley Primary School
At Annesley Primary School, we are committed to providing an inclusive, supportive, and equitable learning environment where all children — regardless of their individual needs or starting points — are valued, nurtured, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
We believe that every child has the right to a high-quality education that recognises and responds to their unique strengths and challenges. Our approach to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is rooted in the principles of inclusion, early identification, and tailored support.
We work in close partnership with parents and carers, recognising that they are key to understanding their child’s needs and progress. Through regular communication, shared planning, and mutual respect, we strive to build strong, positive relationships with families to support each child’s journey.
To ensure our pupils receive the best possible support, we collaborate with a wide range of specialist SEND agencies and professionals. This includes educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, social and emotional support teams, and other local authority services. These partnerships help us to provide targeted, evidence-based interventions that meet the specific needs of each child.
At Annesley Primary School, inclusion is not an add-on — it is at the heart of who we are. We celebrate diversity and are dedicated to removing barriers to learning, so that all our children can thrive.
Our school SENCO is Mrs Marcella Olliffe. If you would like to know more about our SEND provision, or discuss how we can support your child, please contact our SENCo via the school office, your child’s class teacher or by emailing Mrs Olliffe directly molliffe@annesley.notts.sch.uk
