Our new mini topic for this week is going to be Toys. One of Mrs Gibson's favourite stories is Dogger written by Shirley Hughes. It is the story of a little boy who loses his favourite toy. You can listen to the story here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNOYgRf5jes
How do you think the little boy felt when he realised he had lost his toy? How do you think he felt when he got his toy back?
I would like you to draw a picture of your favourite toy and write a sentence about what your favourite toy is and why you like it best.
Please remember to send me your work.
If you are coming back to school this week we will be doing this work at school.
This week I would like us to learn about money. Ask your grown ups to look at coins with you. Talk about what size, shape and colour they are and which coin lets you buy the most. Then set up a toy shop. You can play shops with your grown ups or brothers and sisters. Make some price tags and count out the correct number of pennies to pay for the toys.
This week I would like you to have a go at making a toy that children played with a long time ago. It is called a cup and ball toy.
Follow the intructions below to make your own cup and ball toy.
