Have a wonderful summer...from all the Annesley Staff. Good luck to the children who have left us, to move to other schools.

Spring 1

This term our topic is

Where are all the street lights and why can't I buy any sweets?

Here are some of the things that we will be learning about this term....

  • The Home-Front in WWII, evacuees, rationing and the Dig for Victory campaign.
  • The seven different continents and the five oceans of the  world .
  •  Researching where food comes from.
  •  Growing our own plants.

World War II Day

Well ,what  fun we had on our WWII day with the Partake Theatre Company . Switch Partake around and it says Take part and that's just what we did. Our fabulous teacher Steve taught us how to dance the Jitterbug and the Lambeth Walk. We looked at and discussed genuine WWII artefacts, rationing, the blackout and even wrote on blackboards which was really strange "Mrs Melhuish remembers it well".  A great day which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

WWII Baking Afternoon.

Lots of mess and fun was had by all when we made food from WWII. Only ingredients that were rationed during the war were used.

  Dig for Victory Soup

Bread and Prune Pudding

Ginger bread

The best part of course was the tasting.
