Welcome to Annesley Primary School. Well done everyone, an amazing week for attendance with most classes achieving our aim of 96%. As a school we achieved an attendance of 96.09%, above our target. The winners of this weeks attendance trophy is Doves with 98%. Well done.

Rocket Phonics

Annesley follows a systematic approach through Rocket Phonics, which is linked to our choice of Reading books from Rising Stars. We want children to learn to decode using the alphabetic code as early as possible before frustration has a chance to set in. All books are fully decodable up to turquiose level. Children work through the Rocket phonics scheme,daily, using online resources, pupil books and daily revision. Children at risk of falling behind are supported with additional reading provision by our staff run Reading Squads 3 afternoons each week to support their 'keeping up' with the reading provision.
