Reading is incredibly important to us in year 1 as it impacts on everything else we do.

We will be reading regularly and strongly encourage children to read at home as much as possible too. Ask who, what, where, when and why questions about what they have read to make sure they are listening to their own reading. Recapping what they have read is good practice too. Please sign your child's diary and write a small comment. We will change your child's reading book every Monday. Raffle tickets are awarded to children reading regularly at home. Each half term the raffle tickets will go into a draw and names are picked out to win a book to keep.
