Autumn
Take a look at what we've been getting up to this term.......
Please take a look at what we have planned for the children over the Autumn term. First, we will be looking at all sorts of environmental issues throughout different countries. We will also be taking a look at the Stone Age and explore changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. Our literacy focus will be Narrative writing to entertain, looking at the point of view from 'Om' the cave girl. We will also look at non-chronological reports, focusing on the pupils own Stone Age creature. We will then look at written instructions - How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth.
In numeracy, we will be focusing on place value, addition and subtraction, division and multiplication.
In Science, we will have a look at the different parts of a flowering plant. The requirements a plant needs to grow and how water is transported to plants. We will then look at rocks - the different rock groups. How fossils are formed and how soils are made. We also have two trips coming up - one to Cresswell Cragg and one to the Recycling Centre - more information to follow.
W/C 11/12/23 - what a great start to the week. The children learnt all about the three Rs and what we should and shouldn't recycle. Impressive answers. Way to go Kingfishers! We even had a guest appearance!
W/C 12/11/23 - What an amazing time the children had yesterday with Mrs Gregory. They were learning all about Diwali. All the children loved tasting the different foods and making Rangoli patterns. 
W/C 7/11/23 - in P.E. the children have started to learn the basic skills in hockey.
W/C - 16/10/23 - The children worked in groups to produce their own set of instructions. We then went outside to see if we could follow them.
