It has been great to welcome back some of you into school. We hope to everyone back soon!

Moving On -Transition to senior school

Moving On

As you all have your places for secondary school I know that there are lots of questions you would like answering.

As the situation stands we are unable to cover transition in the usual way through lesson time, with lots of chances to chat about worries and expectations you may have, but your parents do have my email address ( and I am happy to help in any way I can, I am also in regular contact with Miss Geeson who has worked on the transition to secondary school process for several years and is also happy to advise you. I have begun some of the paperwork I need to do and have been in contact with some of your schools already, though I do hope to be able to have face to face meetings before the end of the year.

There is a wealth of online advice to help you but I know this is not the same as chatting to someone, I hope we will be able to do this soon. I also hope your transition days will not be affected and you get to visit your new schools before September.

Below are some links for you to look at, I hope they are of some use and don't forget to get in touch if you have any questions. We will try and answer as much as we can.

Stay safe.

This is quite a big booklet, but it covers a lot of things. Pick out what you feel will be useful for you.

Here's another brilliant (and shorter) transition workbook that you might find helpful.

Here are some great websites:

It is also worth having a look at your senior schools website, most have transition information on.
