We have many exciting things planned this year, please check this page regularly for updates. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to speak to Mrs Joesbury or Mrs Gibson.
EYFS Curriculum
In foundation we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which is split into seven areas. These are;
Communication and Language
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Physical Development
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the World
Expressive Arts and Design
All of these areas are covered through a variety of play based activities, both indoors and outdoors.
Reading
Reading is SO important in Foundation. We encourage children to read 4 times a week, this can be at home with a grown up or at breakfast club or after school club. The reads need to be on different days and signed in their diaries. We will check and celebrate the four reads every Friday, children who have got their 4 reads will stand in class and also receive a sticker on their bookmark. Once their bookmark is full they get to choose a brand new book to take home and keep.
PE and swimming
Please ensure your child has the appropriate PE kit and footwear suitable for outdoor PE. Children with long hair must have it tied up and any ear piercings need to be covered. Please ensure your child has their P.E. kit in school every day.
SADLY, OUR SWIMMING POOL IS CURRENTLY OUT OF ACTION. Swimming will take place every Friday morning. The children will be split into two groups which we will alternate each week. The swimming list will be in the window each week so you know which week your child will be swimming. Girls need to wear a full costume and boys need to wear swimming trunks. If your child needs to wear goggles please ensure you have completed the form and handed it in to myself or the office.
