Design and Technology

D&T is a study of man-made objects/systems/environments for the purpose of solving particular human needs.

It involves 3 elements:

  1. Investigating and evaluating existing products

  2. Learning how things work.

  3. Learning to design and make functional products for particular purposes and users.

D&T at Annesley Primary School: 

  • It develops children's skills and knowledge in design, structures, mechanisms, electrical control and a range of materials, including food.

  • Contribute to the creativity, culture, wealth and well-being of themselves, their community and their nation.

  • Encourages managed risk taking which leads to more resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable children.

  • Develops language, build teamwork and develop resilience.
