Emotional Health & Wellbeing

At Annesley Primary School, we are committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of our children. We are aware that everyone experiences life challenges that can make us vulnerable and at times, may need some emotional support. We take that view that we all have a role to play when promoting positive emotional health.

Talking about emotional health and wellbeing in a primary school can be quite unsettling for some parents, but with an open, honest and supportive approach, these discussions can be made easier. This will enable us to support the children and their families or refer them to the specialist support services on offer should the need arise.

We offer different levels of support:

Universal Support- To meet the needs of all our pupils through our overall ethos and our wider curriculum. For instance developing resilience for all.

Additional support- For those who may have short term needs and those who may have been made vulnerable by life experiences such as bereavement.

Targeted support-  For pupils who need more differentiated support or specific targeted interventions such as wellbeing groups or 1:1 sessions with myself.

*Please note that parental consent must be given prior to the additional or targeted support interventions taking place*
